Power Rankings: Week 7

It's hard to believe this week marks the half way point in the LOC Regular Season. The months feel like years in the wait for the season to return, and when it does it goes past in a blink of an eye. That blink of an eye will no doubt feel like an eternity for some teams that are struggling, while the others will want it to slow down and enjoy the success while they can.

Power Rankings

1. The Dream Team, 5-1 (1): The best team in the LOC got back on the horse last week after a surprise loss to Gridiron Gang in Week 5. The good times keep rolling for this team, but don't mistake that for there being chinks in their armour. While they have yet to post less than 100 points, they are not worlds ahead of the teams behind them as they once were. Still, they are extremely good.

2. IKNAN, 5-1 (3): This team is quietly having an excellent season, and currently holds the longest win streak in the LOC with 5. They are not stacked with talent, but they have a very strong foundation and continue to impress. What's more they are putting The Dream Team under pressure, and that can only bode well for them.

3. Bear Necessities, 4-2 (2): After stumbling a bit the previous week, this team came back with a vengeance. While they still do remain on a core group of 3 players to get the majority of their points, they have been doing so consistently, and they usually find one or two anterior players to step up too. I can't see that changing right now.

4. Burdettinators, 3-3 (6): You might be confused as to how a team that lost and had another bad week (one of a handful). Well, they're in a good situation right now. The division is much softer than anticipated, and the first place team just suffered a blow. Coach Burdett still has a lot of talent at his disposal, and he will do enough to turn out a division win.

5. Gridiron Gang, 3-3 (5): After two stellar weeks, this team stumbled like it did early on. What changed from early on however is they got lucky and got the win this time. Sitting at .500 win percentage for the first time in over 2 years after week 1, this team looks poised to perform. Trouble is, they are 5th in the league, and more importantly 4th in the division. They'll have to push those above them in order to succeed.

6. Tom's Tyrants, 2-4 (8): Another decent week for this team, another loss. It's been a rough season so far, one very reminiscent of last year. While I believe this team will eventually round in to form, it could happen anywhere between this week and the next 4. By that point, it may be too late. They just have to hope Coach Barnes will be able to work some magic.

7. The Tuckfards, 4-2 (4): Just as I started to give this team praise and move them up the board, they take a nasty loss and lose a key player. They have the ease of their division on their side for a playoff push, but this team just isn't good enough to really challenge for the Kumar Bowl this season. The wheels could be starting to come off for Coach Merritt.

8. ADRZ, 2-4 (7): This is a team slowly moving towards disarray and confusion. They started an inactive player, which is only the latest in a litany of problems for this coach. The team can definitely perform on it's day, but it is so volatile that it makes it almost impossible to control for Coach Wells. They still have a chance to push for the division, but they need to find stability, fast.

9. Jeff's Seals, 2-4 (10): You've gotta hand it to these coaches, they've shown determination and grit to keep battling after what looked like a completely disastrous start to their career. While I commend them on their recent success, this is a team definitely over performing. Credit to the coach to get it out of them. Who knows, this coach might surprise. We've seen stranger things in the LOC...

10. Forge Flyers, 0-6 (9): This team is in uncharted territory. No team has ever started a season 0-6, and sadly, this following sentence must also be said. This is the worst start to a season in the entirety of the LOC's 6 year history. An extremely unfair statement, as this team had some very nice games at the start of the year, but that's the position they are in now. My heart goes out to them, I hope they can turn it around.
