2019 Power Rankings: Week 5
Hello, hello, hello! Once again, we find ourselves late on a
Thursday evening, bit of a bad habit but I’ll try and kick it. We’ve now hit
the 4-week mark, extra waiver money has been allocated and people are really
starting to get a feel for their teams. And, because this league is intent on
being as tight as possible, we have lost both our only undefeated team and our
remaining, err, only defeated teams.
But, onto the only thing that really matters, let’s see how all this excitement
affected the Power Rankings…
-
12. Patistan (1-3) – No Change
Well, that’s one way to get a win! Admittedly not the most
convincing way. The Adams trade looks like it is going to help out though,
Patistan could do with getting him back straight away and luckily the injury
looks minor. They’re a couple of injuries away from a killer WR corps.
11. Space Jamal (2-2) – No Change
Not a bad performance from them last week, with a balance of
points across the board and their big trade has certainly upped the roster
depth. They just need some decent performances from their bigger names, and
more of the same from Woods.
10. Buccing The Trend (2-2) – Down 2
That’s not the best way to back up a big rankings boost. The
rookie Coach Taylor will soon learn that sometimes these weeks happen and none
of your players show up, but Gordon is officially back now, his role in the
offense and how quickly he gets up to speed will define their season.
9. The Dream Team (1-3) – No Change
They have stuck too their starters admirably and it has
finally paid off. In a generally low scoring week, breaking the 90-point mark
was enough with points coming across the board. Unless he is getting in the
endzone, Mixon looks awfully like a bust; they will need to address that.
8. Burdettinators (1-3) – Down 1
Still overly reliant on Jackson, the points were there but
the right players weren’t on the pitch. They need to figure out their best
weekly roster before they drop any more games. Turning Rodgers into something
more than a benchwarmer would be handy.
7. Tom’s Tyrants (2-2) – Up 3
Getting a win when your QB throws a pick and goes off
injured whilst still on negative points isn’t particularly easy. The Steelers
DST bailed them out, but The Tyrants finally showed that with some good weekly
streams this team can work.
6. Gridiron Gang (1-3) – Down 1
Eesh. A week after they had seemed to put it all together,
they lost it again. No one turned up to play for them besides Goff and
Zuerlein, but you’ll struggle to win a gameweek without your skill positions. What’s
happening to Hopkins? Gridiron Gang need him to figure it out or they’ll fall
further.
5. The Stone Rosas (2-2) – Up 1
There were plenty of points on the gameweek, but they
weren’t all on the pitch together – again. This team seems to have all the
right points, but Coach Gardner is struggling to get the lottery numbers each
week. More boom required, and less bust. They have gone up in the rankings,
mind it was more the team above them going down…
4. Bear Necessities (3-1) – No Change
I feel like I’m getting used to late season charges from
Coach Stubbs Sr. teams, but this year they are setting themselves just nicely.
Maybe we should be concerned? It wasn’t the best performance, but Nick Chubb
finally showing off his matchup winning potential is promising.
3. Forge Flyers (3-1) – No Change
It was another good week even without Dak joining in the
fun. Will Dissly looks like a good pickup and the team continues to get
stronger. I’m struggling to find the same consistency in individuals as in the
teams that remain above them, but Coach Leach is doing a great job week to week
in team selection.
2. IKSAN (3-1) – No Change
Maybe Rivers was the guy, it was a pretty handy audition at
any rate. This team will roll as long as the core does, RBs and DST, they
continue to look really strong. Getting the right pass catchers on the pitch
each week will make them very hard to beat.
1. The Tuckfards (3-1) – No Change
A chink in the armour for the leaders, maybe they were more
reliant on Mahomes, who was finally kept out of the end zone, than we realised.
They’ll be hoping for Saquon back soon, but even after losing Ross to IR, they
look set and able to recover from a minor blip.

Another week in the books and another week towards glory,
well for one of us at least. Keep your fingers crossed, these rankings mean
nothing, so it can definitely still be you! Peace out.
